The South Asian people from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka have been increasingly immigrating to this great country. As the South Asians settle in this country, their family members are joining them leaving their native countries behind.

The Alliance of South Asian American Labor mainly consists of members from local unions affiliated with national and international unions, those individual workers who believe in the labor movement, and all those who are self-employed in their respective professions including those who run their own small business.
